THE JOB
This is a full-time, remote role for an AWS Cloud Engineer at Tarlton.io. You’ll work from the comfort of your home while collaborating with a global team of engineers, developers, and strategists who are building the cloud backbone for platforms that serve millions of users.
As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure that powers nationwide, high-traffic platforms. Your role will be critical in ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across all projects.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Architecting and maintaining AWS environments (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Route 53, etc.).
- Automating deployments, scaling, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Managing backups, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud redundancy.
- Implementing and enforcing security best practices across AWS services.
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing infrastructure for cost and performance.
- Collaborating with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and app integrations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE
- Proven experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC, Route 53).
- Proficiency in automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Skilled in Linux administration, networking, and security.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and optimization skills.
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent real-world experience).
