About the Role
This is a career-launching opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals who want to build expertise in cloud computing, networking, and DevOps automation.
As a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer, you will work closely with senior staff to manage, upgrade, and automate Rakuten’s cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and OpenStack.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, KVM) & Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Cumulus, Citrix).
- Work with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, OpenStack.
- Perform infrastructure updates, upgrades, and version control.
- Collaborate on building a multi-cloud developer platform.
- Contribute to CI/CD improvements (Jenkins, Git).
- Document processes & support offshore operations team.
- Help design & maintain infrastructure management systems.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT, Information Systems, CS, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in Linux administration and Python scripting.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP & containerization tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Nomad).
- Academic or project-based knowledge of servers, networks, or DevOps tools.
- Strong communication, problem-solving & analytical skills.
Preferred
- Prior internship in Cloud, Infrastructure, or DevOps.
